Midsummer Status Report!
And a big discount for Twin Cities residents!
It’s almost July! Can you believe it? 🏖️
And, in case you’re wondering, I’m doing pretty well on my summer plans. 📋
First, I’m at 9,000 words on the new version of my fifth novel. I don’t really know how it’s going in terms of, like, quality output. But, I’m playing and experimenting, and that in itself feels good. One thing I’m trying: first-person past and first-person present tense narration. I’m not sure I’m good at either of these yet. 🤷🏻♀️
And, I’m about to head out on my European voyage. I’m excited to make writing progress aboard the Romantic Danube River Cruise I’m sailing with my mom! I’d say I’d write a River Cruise Mystery except I already read one like that, and it was delightful. ⚓️
Next, I have booked my 10th tutoring client! So, I reached my goal of working with ten people this summer! Still, it’s not too late to hit me up! While I don’t think I can take any more manuscript clients before about October, I can definitely still help third-twelfth graders with college essays, test prep, summer reading assignments, and gearing up for a new school year. Before you lose your mind over your middle schooler ignoring their summer work (been there!), reach out. 📞
Finally, and most exciting, I’m doing my first big book fair!
I think it’s going to be pretty darn cool. AND, I have ten discounted (50% off) tickets up for grabs. There are a ton of cool vendors, authors, and booksellers set to appear, PLUS beer and food trucks. The tickets (HERE) are 20 bucks, but you can get yours for 10 with the code WEST824. My husband, my friend KK, and I will be person-ing my booth. We have a banner with my photo on it, a tablecloth, candy, bookmarks, copies of all 4 of my books (now that I think of it, I should order some novellas…), and lots of cheer. ☀️ Come! I’ll tell you all about the river cruise, from which I will return the afternoon before at 5pm. No prob. 👀
See you soon?!

Yay, book fair!! 🙌🏻
